When Toby Tanser left Kenya, to return to Sweden in 1995, he did so barefoot. He gave his last pair of shoes to a Nairobi taxi driver at the departures stand. That was pretty much the start of things.

There is no end, but somehow that giving of one pair of shoes transpired into building East Africa's first ever public children's hospital.

And along the way some amazing things purely happened.
